2005-10-15 - 9:56 p.m. At Friday's end, I was moved in to my office on the new floor of our building. I have shiny new and much nicer furniture, a bookshelf in the corner, and a little shelf around the edge where I can put photos and any other little decorations. I went out and bought a red mouse mat in celebration. I'm actually enormously excited about going to work on Monday, which is a nice change. The office didn't really feel like mine when I left it - just a space with all my stuff in it. I can't wait to start working in it, gesturing to my secretary through the glass wall and twirling around in my new chair. (My work does actually consist of more than gesturing and twirling, but those are the bits I'm most looking forward to.) I met Cate after work on Friday, had a few drinks with her before heading off to see Kristina Olsen perform at The Drum in West End. Cate had spread the word, so I was hoping that everyone who turned up was actually going to enjoy the show, seeing as they were all there on my recommendation. It was a fantastic show, full of hilarious stories and wonderful new material, and everyone enjoyed themselves, thankfully. I bought Kristina's new CD, Your Darkened Room, and stayed the night at Cate's place. I shall try to do this more often, as I was fed pancakes in the morning, which makes me very agreeable for the rest of the weekend. In terms of alcohol consumption, I probably had something like four or five drinks, and by the end of the night - hours after I'd stopped drinking - I felt a little unsettled in the stomach, which was unfortunate. I drank some peppermint tea while the others, having more stamina than I, went on to whiskey. I think four drinks is probably my sensible limit at the moment, if I want to avoid throwing up in the future.
