Back to the doctor yesterday, and due to my right ear still having "spots" on the ear drum, I now have a wick in my ear - a small tubular bit of cotton stuffed down my ear canal. It's driving me crazy!. Thankfully, it gets pulled out tomorrow morning, and hopefully, crossed fingers and toes, that will be the end of the ear saga.

I can't wait to hear properly again. I was in court this morning, craning my left ear towards the judge and trying to hear the order in which the cases were going to be heard. The barrister next to me kept turning pages loudly. He wasn't the most personable man I've ever instructed. Monotone voice, blank face - I have no idea what he was thinking.

There were three women in the court this morning, and about 35 men. It's intimidating, in a way, standing in a crowd of dark suits. I think it's the uniformity of dress that makes it alarming, rather than the proliferation of the opposite sex. I stand there, think about people blustering about equality within the law, and snort. I do not feel equal in that sea of suits.
