The doctor peered into my ear, and murmured quietly, "Aaah. Yes. You have something growing on your ear drums."
"Eww! Yuk!" I said. Because I'm full of class and sophistication.
He couldn't tell whether it was bacteria or fungus, so I've got drops that treat both. I have to put them in three times a day and plug my ears up afterwards. The drops are yellow and viscous, and coat my ear drum making me half deaf.

It turns out that you shouldn't use ear candles unless you have so much wax in your ears you're having difficulty hearing. Otherwise you just create a nice wide open passage for bacteria or fungus to waltz down and set up home on your ear drums. "It's a very deep infection - very unusual," the doctor said, cheerily. I imagined little fern-like growths waving at him from inside my ear.

So my ears are clogged and aching (but at least the itching has almost disappeared), and it's making me terribly grumpy. Sounds outside are dull, but all the sounds in my body are magnified. There's a hissing in my left ear, and I'm sure it's the flow of blood I'm listening to. Either that or I'm getting tinnitus, which is sure to improve my mood.

I had a pleasant conversation with a client who is usually psychotically unreasonable and phone-slammingly unpleasant. It makes me very suspicious. I'm sure it means she's planning a dramatic explosion in the near future - hopefully once the Partner has returned from holidays and is around to handle exploding clients.

I'm going to a work related ball in a week, and last weekend I purchased a corset-style top (an "I can't dance because I'll faint from lack of oxygen" style top) and matching skirt. I'm terribly happy with it, because I put it on and looked in the mirror, and was enormously pleased with my reflection. It pulls and pushes in all the right places, and the skirt falls stiffly elegant from the hips.

Someone had better invite me to a formal wedding in the next year so I can wear it again.
