Questions from ilmomof3.

1. Leave me a comment if you want to be interviewed.

2. I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions.

3. You will update your blog/site with the answers to the questions.

4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.

5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

1) Which major arcana card do you feel most represents the truest inner you?

There's several that pop into my head that represent how I like to think of myself. The Fool - the wise free spirit, or the Empress - the wise earth mother.

The card I most connect with when it appears is Strength. I love that card, and I do like to think that I carry that sense of quiet strength and purpose.

Probably the card I'd settle on as being most representative of myself is the Sun. I'm immensely grateful for my capacity for pure intense joy, and the happiness that seems always within my reach.

2) Why did you chose the field of law?

Initially, because I didn't know what else to do when I left school, and I thought it would be kind of cool to be a lawyer and earn heaps of money. I liked the idea of helping people.

Now, I'm not making heaps of money, the people I'm helping would go into the category of "dodgy" for the most part, and I'm no longer so seduced by the coolness of it. However, getting through a knotty problem is satisfying. Crafting a smooth letter to a client is satisfying. And I must admit, sitting in court listening to a skilled barrister questioning someone is still kind of cool.

In the future, I may rethink the area of law I'm in, and the firm I'm in. I'm not sure how long I can stay satisfied where I am once I'm admitted as a solicitor.

3) Do you work with any particular deities or energies?

No. Not really. I'm much more comfortable with viewing divinity as a great formless mass, rather than as particular deities. I do enjoy working with the elements of earth, air, fire and water in all sorts of ways though, so those are probably the most specific energies.

4) Which three people have most influenced your writing?

Barbara Kingsolver made me want to write in a way that deeply affected people, and to observe the world much more closely.

Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett inspire me to attempt to write with more humour.

And millions of writers online inspire me in myriad ways.

5) Where do you feel closest to the Divine?

Outside. Swimming in fresh water, discovering new places, planting, flowers, running in the rain, and lying flat on my back under the sun.
